Bloomsburg Loses to IUP in Women's Basketball

INDIANA (PA)- Despite a game-high 21 points from Jamie Kauczka (Kingston/Wyoming Valley West), the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team lost to Indiana (PA) on Saturday.
The Huskies held an early 10-2 lead through the first four minutes of the game. However, the Indians rallied and took a 13-10 with an 11-0 run over the next three minutes of play. The teams traded leads before IUP took the lead for good at 23-21 on a layup by Jahzinga Tracey with 4:08 to go in the first half.
Leading by six, 32-26, at halftime, IUP used its second 13-0 run to break open the game and take a 45-26 lead with 14:29 to left to play. The Huskies could get no closer than 12 points the rest of the way as IUP improved to 7-0 in PSAC cross-over play.
Bloomsburg, 3-11, got 21 points and 12 rebounds for Kauczka and 13 points from fellow senior Kelly Burkhart (Sayre/Athens).
IUP, 12-3, was led by Staci Heberling with 18 points, while Mame Brumbaugh added 12 points.
The Huskies are back in action Wednesday hosting Kutztown in PSAC East action starting at 5:30 p.m.
